Services (CPTS) is seeking aProgrammer
Ito support the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), National Center for
Toxicological Research (NCTR). TheProgrammer Iwill perform tasks to
support and expand the scientific computer cluster environment at NCTR.
The primary areas of expertise required
are support for Linux OS administration and computer cluster systems (sometimes
called high performance computing or HPC).
The Linux system administrator is responsible for effective
provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems
hardware and software and related HPC infrastructure. Duties performed will involve technical
research and development to enable continuing innovation within the
infrastructure, assistance with basic overall HPC system maintenance, assist
with integration of new technologies into existing data center environment,
monitor system statistical data across grid engine, assist with
hardware/software installations, and improve system configuration documents.

* Apply patches and updates to Centos
Linux (version 6 and later) monthly and as needed.
* Assist with the configuration and
maintenance of the Univa Grid Engine (version 8.5 and later).
* Install, configure, and test up to
24 new computing cluster nodes.
* Support the installation of new
analytical and scientific computing software on the HPC cluster.
* Document procedures and scripts
used to perform tasks.
