Baptist Health Fort Smith (BHFS) is recruiting a Urologist to join an existing group of three physicians. The recruitment need is to replace a physician who recently left the practice. This is a well-established practice that has been caring for patients in the Fort Smith area since the 1950's. They are the primary group in the area and they draw patients from 15 counties in Arkansas and 18 counties in Oklahoma. Patient demand, as well as patient satisfaction, is high. The physicians in the group practice general Urology and each see patients in clinic and the hospital. They generally have clinic 2.5 days per week and operate 2.5 days per week. Each physician averages 40 patients per day in the clinic. BHFS is a 492- bed hospital complete with an emergency department, intensive care unit, outpatient imaging and surgery center. There is a da Vinci robot that the urologists utilize. The call requirement at the hospital is 10 days per month. Fort Smith is the second largest city in Arkansas with a population approaching 88,000 people. The city is located on the Arkansas River at the border of Arkansas and Oklahoma and has a rich history. There is much to do in the area for both visitors and residents. There is a diverse restaurant scene from Southern-styled foods and Cajun specialties to cuisine from around the world. For outdoor enthusiasts there are trails for biking, hiking, and running as well as lakes and rivers for fishing. The city's location in the Arkansas River Valley and below the Ozark Mountains makes it a prime location to get out and explore Arkansas' scenic beauty.
